Scruffs is committed to responsible, transparent business practices across our workwear and safety footwear ranges. Our ESG approach spans product sustainability — including recycled materials, responsibly sourced leather and packaging — and ethical supply chain management. We are a Sedex member, using independent audit data to monitor labour and ethical standards across our supplier base, and we are members of the UK Fashion & Textile Association (UKFT), working alongside the wider industry on responsible sourcing. This page sets out where we are today, the standards and certifications behind our claims, and the areas we're actively working to improve.

Recycled materials. Same strength, less impact.
We're transitioning a growing number of our fabrics to recycled polyester and nylon in place of virgin yarns, reducing reliance on new raw materials. Recycled content percentages, where applicable, are shown on individual product listings.

Packaging
We know how frustrating unnecessary packaging can be, especially when it can't be re-used. That's why we've changed the way we do things.
We've scrapped single use plastic hangers and introduced the Janger® which use 60 times less plastic than a traditional hanger. Plus, our poly bags and shoe boxes are now made from 100% recycled materials.
Leather-Working Group
All our footwear leather comes from Leather Working Group tanneries — using less
energy, producing less waste, and reducing environmental impact without compromising toughness.

Tested where it counts
We don't do fast fashion. Our kit is built with triple-stitched seams, reinforced high-wear areas and technical fabrics like Cordura, and every product goes through lab testing and wear trials before launch to check it holds up on site. We're proud to put tradies at the centre of that process — so you can trust Scruffs gear to work as hard as you do.

We are a Sedex member, using the platform to assess and monitor labour standards, health and safety, and business ethics across our supply chain.
UKFT
We are also members of the UK Fashion & Textile Association (UKFT), engaging with the wider industry on responsible sourcing and manufacturing standards.
Carbon Footprint
We've measured our carbon footprint across our UK operations and value chain in line with the Greenhouse Gas Protocol, independently verified to ISO 14064-3. This gives us a baseline of 351 tonnes CO2e for the year to July 2025, with transport and distribution — largely sea freight — identified as our biggest source of emissions. We're using this baseline to target reductions across energy, transport and our supply chain, and we'll report progress annually as our data coverage improves, including production-related emissions not yet captured in this first assessment.
